Gosford City Council Presents THE CULTURAL LABORATORY. Commencing at 7:30pm. The Cultural Laboratory is a unique initiative from Gosford City Council. It comes as a result of the demand for a performance space that is free of charge for local artists to workshop their ideas. The Laboratory is held three times a year in the intimate space of The Peninsula Theatre at Woy Woy. Each Lab features a variety of performance including story-telling from local residents, Indigenous and Multi-Cultural groups, comedy, music, dance, film, drama, poetry and literature. TICKETS: Adults $10, Conc/Child $7 (includes Supper)
Laycock Street Theatre & Music Aviva Presents FLAMENCO CREW SUPPER CLUB. Commencing at 8:00pm. Traditional and contemporary Flamenco elements harmonize gracefully with middle eastern and jazz influences in a show that is from the heart of its musicians. Some of Sydney’s finest musicians and dancers join with creative force in an intimate yet explosive deliverance of the magic that is flamenco. Flamenco Crew bring together a crew of collaborating artists who share their passion for authentic contemporary Flamenco in Australia. TICKETS: All $29 (includes seasonal Supper)

Central Dance Company Presents CELEBRATION 20/20. A special event celebrating 20 years of performing at Laycock Street Theatre and 20 years of cultural exchange between Central Dance Company, the Coast’s only semi-professional dance company, and dancers from Japan. Company dancers will share the stage with over 30 dancers from Ty Ballet Company from Tokyo, with a different programme on the Saturday night. On this, their first visit to Australia, the Ty Ballet will present a full programme, including Nutcracker Acts I and II and Swan Lake Act II plus various Pas de Deux. Central Dance Company will also present a special set of “Rachmaninoff Variations” choreographed by Michael Montgomery, former Artistic Director of Bondi Ballet, along with a number of contemporary works. Montgomery is renowned for his New York City Ballet style, described as neo-classical. Central Dance Company dancers who are part of this concert will tour to Edogawa, Japan in January 2009 as part of the Sister City relationship.
